We are looking for an honest, genuine, dedicated, experienced and hard- working head person to help look after our sports horses and spelling horses.
You will be part of a small team that works to the highest standards and takes a real pride in what they achieve.
Duties will include, feeding, mucking out, tacking up, washing down, grooming, tack cleaning, looking after the spelling horses and all other general yard duties. There is the potential for the right person to help with riding, lunging and handling horses. You'll need to be an experienced rider/handler (experience dealing with young horses, broodmares and fit competition horses is preferred, but not a must) with a teachable attitude and an awesome work ethic. You must be prepared to be flexible with your hours as we have some early starts and late finishes when we are competing. You must be happy to use your own initiative at times as you may be working unsupervised. The ability to work in an organised and methodical manner with an eye for detail is essential, as well as being an excellent communicator.
We normally work 08.00 to 17.00 with an hour for lunch, but horses are not a 9 to 5 job and this post includes working weekends.
We are a small boutique yard and for the right person there will be plenty of opportunities to progress and receive further training as well as the opportunity to groom at competition.
In return for all your hard work we are offering an excellent salary package, however you will need your own transport as we are not on a bus route.
Preference will be given to people who have had previous experience of working with top performance horses.
